ABOUT — Klara Huszar-Haramza

Designer, problem-solver and expat-at-heart.

— Hi, I’m Klara.
— I help expats feel at home in Budapest — simply, humanly, step by step.

My Story

Before I created InstantKomfort, I spent years living abroad — in France, the Netherlands and England.
Every move started the same way:

One big suitcase.
A furnished rental.
And the hope that it would feel like home soon.

It never did.

Around month six, something always shifted.
I started craving my own mattress.
My own sofa.
My own colours, light and comfort.

Something personal.
Something grounding.

That’s when I realised something essential.

People are like gas — we fill the space we live in.

Most expats don’t furnish their homes in one beautiful, well-planned step.
They buy a lamp one weekend, a shelf weeks later, a rug much later…

And without a guiding concept, the home slowly turns into an unintentional mix of styles.
A quiet chaos instead of comfort.

I know this deeply — so deeply that in England, my partner and I slept on the bare floor for months.
Not because we couldn’t buy a bed.
But because I refused to buy one that was “just okay”.

Because the wrong piece makes a home feel worse.
And the right one changes everything.

My Design Philosophy

Your home should support you — emotionally, mentally and practically.
Even if you build it step by step.

That’s why InstantKomfort exists.

Not to overwhelm you with design theory.
Not to force trends on you.

But to help you create a home that feels:

  • balanced
  • intentional
  • calming
  • and deeply yours

Whether you’ve just arrived in Budapest — or you’re preparing to leave it.

How I Help You

I work with expats through clear, simple, human-focused services:

∙ Quick Fix – Just Arrived

Fast home setup: assembling, arranging, styling, unpacking.

∙ Sell Assist – Leaving Hungary

Selling support: professional photos, listings, buyer communication, donation options.

∙ Ask Komfort – Online Consultation

Video-call guidance: layout, colours, furniture lists, practical next steps.

∙ Komfort Therapy – Guided Shopping

Choosing items together — avoiding bad buys, building a clear concept.

∙ Custom Komfort – Custom Furniture Design

Small-space solutions, 3D concepts, carpenter-ready plans.

I combine real expat experience with design expertise —
helping you build a coherent home now, and making it easier to move on later.

Where Balázs Enters the Story

I’m not building InstantKomfort alone.

My husband, Balázs, is the founder of villanyero.hu
a skilled electrician, all-round handyman, furniture assembler and maintenance expert.

Together, we realised something simple:
One couple • One weekend • One solution

A friendly, human, full-service way to help expats settle into — or move out of — their Budapest homes without stress.

I bring the design, clarity and concept.
He brings the tools, installation, safety and technical know-how.

  • Lighting installed?
  • Furniture assembled?
  • Small repairs?
  • Electrical fixes?

We cover it — together.

This is our shared specialty:
a complete comfort experience, from the first idea to the final screw.

A Bit More About Me

I’ve been working in the field for over two decades, more than ten of those in kitchen design.
I’m drawn to industrial lofts, fascinated by the tiny house movement, and I genuinely love a challenging project that makes my mind tick.

I speak English and French, and living for years in native-speaking environments has given me deep insight into how different cultures live — and feel — at home.

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me:

  • organising board game nights
  • decompressing with Japanese anime.

I love quizzes and personality tests — I used to be an INTP, and with a few more grey hairs, I’m slowly becoming an INTJ.

As amateur street photographer, I strive to capture unique moments on both digital and film cameras.
I'm a huge fan of ramen, pho and bag-noodle soup, I have my own recipe and a collection of chopsticks.

My Mission:

To create homes that are comfortable and practical for their owners —
and memorable, warm and inspiring for their guests.
